So it was my birthday 🥳 awhile ago and was seeing someone who made plans to go to dinner and then do whatever I wanted the rest of the evening.
My birthday falls on the timeline of March Madness most years so I get that it isn’t the best or birthday times for some people. So there were no games scheduled on the Saturday of my birthday week that the guy I had been on a date with a few times said he wanted to see – so it was solid.
Saturday morning I get a text; mind if we skip the plans and go hang out with my friends?
I am a brat when it comes to my birthday. I feel like it’s important on everyone’s birthday and it’s rude to change things last minute.
I said, you know what – just hang with your friends – I will spend time with my friends. To be honest, I was upset and angry even though I offered to be like go with the friends…
So he went to hang with his friends and low and behold his friend was dm -ing asking to go out or asking if I would be cool with him coming to take me to dinner for my birthday. While the guy I was supposed to be with was with him…
As much as I wanted to go.. I didn’t – not a drama filled girl but it took a lot not to do that.

The guy called the next day and apologized for being selfish. I did go out one last time – I did make sure it was expensive dinner and Dave and Busters and Top Golf .. and a movie .. pop, candy, popcorn and hot dog, nachos, and churros – yep, felt it was worth an expensive day…
Normally I am not petty however I was proud of me .. lol 😂
We didn’t go out again after that .. his friend continued to dm me .. I didn’t take the bait – perhaps i should have.
